Starting Lineup

Dean Henderson Had little to do required during the opening 45 but then called into action from an opponent's curled attempt. His sliding tackle against an Albanian attacker highlighted his reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Tested by the opposition's main danger in their forward. Operated through the middle to begin with later drifted out wide after Saka entered the fray. 7/10

The defender Moved forward when in possession, a familiar role in the past. Sometimes lacked urgency when carrying play and the experiment was shelved after the break. 6/10

The tall defender A nuisance from dead balls, per usual, but may be another option for Stones in the backline instead of paired with him. One wayward pass later in the match came close to a goal for Albania. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly Another composed display from the youngster after his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka was unable to take the most of a gorgeous backheel over their defense. His position looks secure already. 7

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. Slightly careless on the ball though his whipped set-pieces posed a danger. An effective game manager for the coach to call upon versus defensive opponents. Cautioned after a reckless tackle. 6/10

Declan Rice Crosses on corner kicks and free-kicks were dangerous. Had license to roam on the left only to be in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Granted a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Operated in a forward spot out wide while also did plenty of dirty work. Showed flashes of quality and dragged a shot high. Substituted late on for Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. 7

The winger Was presented with the team's best chance in the opening period, his effort excellently kept out by the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate holding position, he had to stretch the play down the right side but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6

Harry Kane The match-winner with his 77th and 78th finishes at international level. His first a trademark poacher’s finish and the second a classy header after peeling away from his marker. At 32, his form is unwavering and England are strong contenders next summer with him leading the line. 8/10

The attacker Had difficulty to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a decent opportunity following a pass by the midfielder yet Strakosha denied him. Rashford made much more of an impact in his place. 5
