Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
