Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
