Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.
A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.
A Possibility for Support and an "Chart Upset"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”
Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Featured Artists
The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby includes a group of well-known figures from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.
Creation and Launch
Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The song showcases a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.
The group managing the initiative have clarified that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“There is no a fixed goal,” a representative explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The situation in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.
“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”
The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from mid-December.
